Gears E-Day Editions: Standard, Premium, Upgrade & Collector's

Compare every confirmed Gears of War: E-Day edition, including Standard, Premium, the $30 Premium Upgrade, Collector's Edition, early access, bonuses, and US pricing.

The confirmed Gears E-Day editions are Standard Edition, Premium Edition, Premium Edition Upgrade, and Collector's Edition. In the United States, Xbox currently lists the Standard Edition at $69.99, the Premium Edition at $99.99, and the Premium Edition Upgrade at $30. The official Xbox Game Studios Shop lists the Collector's Edition at $299.99 in the US, although stock and regional pricing vary.

The most important difference is not just cosmetics. Premium Early Access has been live since October 1, 2026, while the standard launch is October 6, 2026. The Collector's Edition also includes Premium content, so it uses the same early-access window while adding a large set of physical collectibles.

Prices above are current official US prices re-verified on October 3, 2026. Regional stores can use different currencies and prices, and the Collector's Edition is a limited physical product rather than a permanently stocked digital tier.

Standard Edition: the simple base-game option

The Standard Edition is the straightforward choice if you only want Gears of War: E-Day. It includes the base game and uses the standard October 6, 2026 release date.

Standard does not include the Premium Edition's five-day early-access benefit, 1,000 Iron, seasonal customization packs, or Bravo Squad Signature Weapon Pack. That distinction makes Standard the cleanest comparison point: you are paying for the game itself rather than an additional digital-content bundle.

If you already plan to use Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass, you may not need to buy Standard just to play on day one. Xbox confirms E-Day is included with those subscriptions beginning October 6. The more relevant paid option for some subscribers may instead be the Premium Upgrade, discussed below. See the Gears E-Day Game Pass guide for the subscription route.

Premium Edition: what the extra $30 buys

The Premium Edition costs $99.99 in the US, exactly $30 above the current $69.99 Standard Edition price. Its biggest time-sensitive benefit is the currently active Early Access period, which began October 1, 2026.

The official Premium package includes:

  • the full Gears of War: E-Day base game;
  • up to five days of early access;
  • the Bravo Squad Signature Weapon Pack, for campaign use;
  • 1,000 Iron, the premium in-game currency;
  • the Emergence Customization Pack at launch; and
  • four additional Seasonal Customization Packs released later.

The Emergence Customization Pack is more detailed than a generic cosmetic bundle. The Coalition lists the Death's Rendezvous Marcus Fenix Legendary Character Skin, Bloodied Hunter Tai Kaliso Epic Character Skin, two poses, two weapon-skin sets, an Emergence Omen banner and emblem, and a Death's Rendezvous icon.

Each later Seasonal Customization Pack is advertised as containing two character skins, two weapon skin sets, two poses, plus a banner, emblem, and icon. The important timing detail is that not all five packs arrive at once: Emergence is the launch pack, while the remaining seasonal packs become available as released.

Premium Edition Upgrade: useful for Standard or eligible Game Pass players

The Premium Edition Upgrade costs $30 on the Xbox Store and does not include another copy of the base game. Xbox explicitly says it requires the game, while its store description also notes compatibility with an eligible Game Pass Ultimate membership.

That makes the Upgrade potentially the most efficient option in two common situations:

  1. You already own the Standard Edition and decide you want the Premium benefits.
  2. You expect to access the base game through Game Pass Ultimate and want the Premium extras and early-access entitlement without purchasing the complete $99.99 Premium Edition.

The Upgrade includes the same headline Premium benefits: early access, Bravo Squad Signature Weapon Pack, five seasonal customization packs, and 1,000 Iron.

Do not confuse an upgrade license with ownership of the base game. If your base-game access later disappears because a subscription ends or your ownership changes, the Premium Upgrade by itself is not a standalone copy of E-Day.

Is there a Gears E-Day Deluxe Edition?

No separate official product named Deluxe Edition appears in the current Xbox or The Coalition lineup. Searchers using “Gears E-Day Deluxe Edition” are almost certainly looking for the Premium Edition.

That distinction is worth preserving for SEO as well as accuracy. Standard, Premium, Premium Upgrade, and Collector's are actual official names. Creating a fictional Deluxe tier would make the edition table harder to understand and could mislead readers comparing prices.

What comes with the Collector's Edition?

The Collector's Edition is the physical enthusiast bundle. It includes the base game and Premium Edition digital upgrade, then adds a collection of physical items centered on Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago.

The official contents include:

  • a 15-inch Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago diorama statue;
  • a 1:1 replica of Carlos Santiago's COG tags, made from zinc alloy and brass;
  • an in-game photo;
  • a lithograph/art print;
  • a thank-you note from The Coalition;
  • a custom SteelBook designed by Luke Preece;
  • collector display packaging with a drawer for the COG tags; and
  • the Premium Edition digital content, including early access, 1,000 Iron, seasonal customization packs, and Bravo Squad weapons.

The Xbox Series X version includes a physical game disc. The Steam version includes a digital code. The Collector's Edition itself launches October 1, matching the Premium early-access date.

Collector's Edition price and stock

The official US Xbox Game Studios Shop lists the Collector's Edition at $299.99. As of September 6, that US listing is marked out of stock while still offering a back-in-stock notification option. The European storefront likewise shows regional pricing and limited availability.

This is why the Collector's Edition should not be treated like a normal digital tier. Its availability depends on physical inventory, shipping regions, and participating retailers. The US shop currently states direct shipping restrictions covering the United States, Canada, Mexico, Argentina, and Chile, while European customers are directed to the international storefront.

If your goal is only to obtain Premium gameplay benefits, buying a scarce $299.99 collector bundle makes little sense compared with Premium or the $30 Upgrade. The Collector's Edition is primarily for people who actually value the physical statue, tags, SteelBook, and packaging.

What happened to the pre-order beta benefit?

Older edition pages prominently advertised early access to the Open Beta for pre-orders. That benefit is now historical: the early-access beta ran August 6-10, and the open beta ran August 13-17, 2026. Those dates have passed.

The remaining pre-order incentive listed by the official shop includes the Exfil Dom Legendary Character Skin and Exfil Legendary Weapon Skin Set for launch. The official product notice says the pre-order offer remains valid for qualifying purchases before October 6, 2026 at the stated cutoff, subject to retailer and regional terms.

This matters because an older article can look current while still presenting expired beta access as a reason to pre-order today.

Which Gears E-Day edition should you buy?

The best choice depends on what you actually need:

  • Buy Standard if you want to own the base game and are comfortable waiting for the October 6 standard unlock.
  • Buy Premium if you want to own the game and also want the five-day early-access window and digital extras.
  • Buy the $30 Premium Upgrade if you already have a compatible base-game route, including an eligible Game Pass Ultimate path, and only need the Premium benefits.
  • Buy Collector's only if the physical collectibles are important enough to justify the much higher price and limited stock.
  • Use Game Pass if your priority is simply playing on October 6 without buying the base game outright.

Bottom line

There are four useful purchase paths for Gears E-Day editions. Standard is the $69.99 base game. Premium is $99.99 and adds October 1 early access plus digital content. The $30 Premium Upgrade gives those extras to players who already have a compatible base-game route. Collector's is the $299.99 US physical bundle with Premium content, a 15-inch Marcus and Dom statue, Carlos Santiago COG tags, SteelBook, prints, and collector packaging.

For most players, the real decision is Standard versus Premium versus Game Pass plus the Premium Upgrade. Collector's is a separate collector purchase, not simply a more expensive way to access the same game.
